The Fourth Generation languages are very high-level languages. These are results oriented and include database query languages. A fourth-generation programming language is a programming language designed with a specific purpose in mind such as the development of commercial business software.

The fourth generation languages consist of statements similar to statements in a human language. Fourth generation languages are commonly used in data base programming. Example : SQL, Oracle.
